What we love about these episodes is that our guests walk away with tangible tips on how to grow their businesses. In this episode of Content Creation, Finding Your Target Audience, and Pitching Brands we cover several important topics including:

  • How to manage audience transitions on your social media platforms

  • How focusing on growth gets in the way of creating

  • Looking at your content pillars to see where there is room for expansion

  • How to pitch a brand and move away from affiliate programs

Find Your Target Audience

The conversation with Katie kicks off with a question about her audience on Instagram. Her main hang-up was that she is in a new phase of life and is curious about how to find a new audience, while not abandoning her current audience. Some of the advice that Natalie and Tara gave Katie is to focus on her content first and the audience will come naturally. Right now, Instagram is in a weird place so it’s important to not get discouraged when you aren’t growing. The biggest takeaway from this part of the conversation is to have faith in what you’re sharing and if you’re staying true to who you are, then the followers will come naturally.

Content Creation on Social Media

Moving on to the next part of the conversation, Katie is asking about the kind of content she should or shouldn’t be sharing on social media. Some of the tips that Natalie and Tara gave her were to expand on her content pillars. Currently, she was only sharing 2-3 different kinds of content, but on Instagram, it’s important to expand, yet, be consistent about what she was posting. Another important note on content creation on social media is that there are no rules on what you can and cannot post. But if you choose to share about life on the farm, then you should be consistent with what and how you’re sharing on social media.

How to Pitch a Brand

If you are anything like Katie and have been stuck in a rut on how to pitch brands or maybe move away from affiliate work to brand work, then make sure to check out this full episode there are TONS of great information to make this transition. The best advice that Natalie and Tara give Katie in this section of the show is to just do it. While that seems like a pretty straight forward answer, pitching a brand is easier than you think. Look around your house and make a list of all the brands you use on a regular basis, come up with a pitch template then start shooting them out. Make sure to include personal information about yourself, what you love about the brand, and what you bring to the table to make the offer irrestible.

Make sure to listen to the full mastermind episode to catch all the tangible tips that Katie walked away with in this episode.
