Farm and Ranch Updates

To kick off this week’s update Tara is excited to introduce this week’s special guest…her husband Daniel! We will dive more into detail on how Daniel has gotten involved in sharing on Tara’s New Mexico Milkmaid Facebook page below so make sure to keep reading. As far as farm updates go, in early June, Tara, and Daniel decided to intentionally pursue monetizing their videos on Facebook. The decision really came about after attending the VAS Conference in June and chatting with the Iowa Dairy Farmer about how he has grown his social following. Make sure to check below on some tips that Tara and Daniel have about making the leap to monetizing on Facebook.

Currently Coveting: HitchPin.com

Daniel shared his weekly obsession this week, but if we are being honest, it’s been an ongoing obsession. Daniel has been on the search for a new tractor for the farm, so he has been scoping out available tractors all over the country. This was a very candid part of the conversation where Natalie jumps in and offers to help find a tractor on HitchPin.com, does anyone want to take bets on who finds a tractor first? How I Got My Husband to Share Online

As we mentioned in the farm and ranch updates, Tara and Daniel are deep diving into how they started their monetization journey on Facebook and how they hit their first 4-Figure day. Daniel shares in this episode that it was not his original intention to be sharing on Facebook, but the Iowa Dairy Farmer really piqued his interest after a conference he attended with Tara in June. Since then, he has been taking content creation a little more seriously around the farm. Below are some highlights that Tara and Daniel have both learned on this monetization journey since June.

  • When a social media platform offers you the opportunity to monetize your channel, definitely take it because they will prioritize content that’s doing well

  • Don’t reinvent the wheel. Watch what other people are doing and draw inspiration from them based on what’s working

  • Make sure to always provide context in your videos because you never know who’s tuning in for the first time

  • Daniel shared about his experience learning how video himself in order to create a finished, edited result

  • How important storytelling is in content creation and how to incorporate it into your social strategy

This business shot is PACKED full of information on not only Facebook monetization, but also content creation, video creation, and much more including Daniel’s one thing he wished he knew before jumping into this content creation journey.
