About Tara Beaver Coronado

Tara is a farmer from Northern California. Her dad grew corn and alfalfa but encouraged her to find her own path in agriculture. After many years of planning, she planted a vineyard in 2018. In 2021, she and her husband welcomed our first child, Waylon. Life has been a whirlwind for her since he’s been born.

For book club, she chose The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. The reason she chose this book is that she felt a deep connection to it when she first read it. After having Waylon she read it for a second time and found even more connections than before. Growing up, she was extremely close to her Great Grandma, and her son, her Grandpa. They traveled from Oklahoma to California to work as migrant workers up and down through California. After reading this book you’ll understand why she felt so connected to it. She hopes you love it as much as she does!

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah

“The Four Winds (St. Martin’s) by Kristin Hannah is a sweeping saga of a family’s struggle to survive set against the backdrop of The Great Depression and the Dust Bowl of America’s Plains states. At the heart of the story is Elsa Wolcott, a tall, awkward girl who suffered rheumatic fever as a teenager. She believed she was never beautiful, smart, or strong enough to earn the love of her wealthy Texan family, so she withdrew into the world of books.”
